Throwback Thursday Time - In the dark, medieval times of mid-Michigan, when flickering shadows were cast as the sun touched on twilight, there were two sisters, imbued with magic, who were occasionally called upon to watch a pair of unkempt and barely ruly boys. They mastered the gigantic horses of exotic Arabia, they created stews of edible venison, but most amazingly, they could create fire. Genuine, willful fire. Fire of wildwood, sparks to ignite the evening skies. They were then, and shall evermore stand as superhuman beings in my memory of those bygone days. They have mortal names, these sisters, but their true identities are spoken with only a respectful whisper, memories evoked whenever the scent of burning wood drifts along my path. I found a visual document of these two immortals this afternoon, along with my stunned reaction to their mystic abilities. I was drawn to an old box of photographs by the ethereal sound of ephemeral voices.
