Editing Keaton Exercise - Doughboys (1930)

Keaton at MGM is one lesson after another in how that venerable studio just couldn't fathom comedy and comic timing.  So many things framed as a master shot, so many jokes overexplained verbally and then visually...it's great raw material for an editing exercise.

Just like his later film, "Speak Easily," there is a pretty good movie hidden in "Doughboys."
