Post 688 - Ireland Part Four - Peat and Bogs - Connemara Celtic Crystal and the Cliffs of Moher

The peat is pervasive and the water in the area looks already brewed for tea.  They say it contains nutrients that are beneficial.

So many ways to read a typo.

Crystal works - it takes five years of apprenticeship and another three years of specific training in crystal carving technique to make a basic candy bowl.   No computers, no drawing guides, just straight ahead on the blank crystal with this spinning disc and a steady stream of water along a slice of wood to a scrap of leather.

The Cliffs of Moher are in there, somewhere

...and the fog slides a bit...

...and the cliffs emerge

And in a seemingly random bit of chance, the coach took a turn by the village of Waterville, wherein resides a statue of Charlie Chaplin, whose exiled presence there from 1959-1969 came at the suggestion of Walt Disney, who reported to him that the fly fishing was great in that seaside town.  I suspect the discussion came when Disney was in Ireland researching for Darby O'Gill and the Little People, but that's just speculation on my part.  We nudged in for a photo just as a local busker was warming up his accordion.
